This week’s cheese is one I have been waiting to show you for a while! This super interesting cheese caught my eye, and then I got too busy to take pictures and do a tasting, so it just sat in my fridge, unloved. Every time I’d open the deli drawer, there it would be - so close to being eaten, yet so far away.

I was definitely drawn to the cheese in the store by the label, and that I haven’t seen anything quite like this before. I do tend to gravitate to cheeses that have somethin’ extra going on than just straightforward cheese.

No Woman is a cow’s milk cheese, made by Beecher’s Handmade Cheese. It’s made with authentic Jamaican jerk seasonings, which gives the cheese a great meaty, savory flavor. And it’s pretty darn interesting to look at!

It’s definitely not as peppery as I thought it would be. I’ve had some jerk chicken that was pretty darn spicy, but this cheese is just delightful. It tastes like a meal all in itself.

Beecher’s recommends melting on a turkey sandwich, or using some to make some mac and cheese, which I totally agree with. I think it’d be great melted over some eggs for breakfast! Or just for snacking on, paired with some nuts and a glass of something cold.

I did get one crunchy bit of caramelized sugar cane, which was interesting, but other than that the cheese has a pretty mild flavor and smooth texture.
